Vintage Chinese export hand carved red cinnabar lacquer covered box or container. Features a sculptural Tang dynasty style horse head carved with lotus blossom scroll and phoenix bird designs. Well executed with a wonderful deep red color. Brass lined interior with black lacquer finish. Bears original export stamp on bottom. Measures 10 3/8" x 10 1/2" x 5".
