Chinese Export Famille Rose Fish Bowl, 18th Century
A large Chinese famille rose export fish bowl dating from the 18th century with a wooden stand. The globular fish bowl is decorated with flowers and insects on the rim and large flowers on the body. It has a pair of unglazed lion head handles.
Dimensions are: the fish bowl alone measures 13 inches tall X 20 3/4 inches wide, 33 cm X 52.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition with abrasions and use wear.
Provenance: From a private Boston, Massachusetts collection. A similar example was sold at Christie's New York on January 23, 2002, as lot 97.
