Chinese Export Style Gilt Lacquer Lidded Box, 19th
A Chinese export style gilt lacquer lidded box with a pair of metal tea boxes inside and dating from the 19th century. The box features 17 different scenes while the metal boxes features floral decoration. The lid of one features flowers, the other features a landscape.
Dimensions: 6 inches tall X 9 1/4 inches wide X 6 1/4 inches deep; 15.2 cm tall X 23.5 cm wide X 15.9 cm deep. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Wear and cracking to the lacquer and gilt box; the metal boxes have dents.
Provenance: From a private collection in Maryland.
