Chinese Famille Rose Vase, Republic Period
A Chinese famille rose vase dating from the Republic period. The round body has a widely flaring lip and a short foot. The exterior features two garden scene roundels with four figures each on a golden millefleur ground. The lip has a ruyi band, while the neck and foot have stylized banana leaf bands. The bottom has a 6-character mark.
Dimensions are: 8 5/8 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide, 21.9 cm X 13.3 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is significant breakage and repair around the body including areas of overpainting and glaze loss.
Provenance: From a Los Angeles, California estate.
