Chinese Flambe Washer, 18th Century

A Chinese flambe brush washer dating from the 18th century. It is round, and the interior is glazed white. The bottom is impressed with a 6-character mark.

Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 9 1/4 inches wide, 5.1 cm X 23.5 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There is old chipping to the bottom as well as significant glaze chipping throughout. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. Provenance: From the private, premier collection of a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio. The items in the collection were acquired starting in the 1970s from auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams, as well as from various private collections in the United States.
