Chinese Pair of Double Gourd Vases, 19th Century
A Chinese pair of coral-glazed triple-spouted hulu or double gourd vases dating from the 19th century with wood stands. The bodies are triple lobed with a low relief sash, or tie, sculpted to appear knotted and decorated with Greek key motifs.
Dimensions: 10 1/2 inches tall X 6 3/4 inches wide, 26.7 cm tall X 17.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Minor abrasions and scratches to both, overall good condition.
Provenance: From Mr. Loh in Los Angeles, California; a family heirloom. This collection was acquired in Singapore by Mr. Loh's family over 65 years ago. It was shipped to the US following the death of Mr. Loh's mother.
