Chinese Qing Dynasty Lacquer Dinner Set in an interlocking group of 12 quarter round plates, 8 around 4 center plates painted with orchids and scrolling leaves in gold lacquer over black; together with a decorated red, green and gold lacquer over black lacquer round box on 5 feet, the cover painted with flowers and butterflies. Each plate and the box & cover with age related tiny flakes to lacquer and occasional short hairlines and shrinkage cracks. Height of box 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm.) X diameter 17 3/4 inches (45 cm.).
