It was part of the decoration of Casa Vicens by Antoni Gaudí, specifically from the Oriental hall, designed by architect Joan Baptista Serra de Martínez in 1925 (Institut Amatller d'Art Hispànic in Barcelona has a photograph of the stand (cliché 84843)). The house was sold in 1899 by the widow to Antoni Jover. Provenance: descendants of Antoni Jover. They were stored in the basement and removed from the house circa 1965.
