A disciple of Yoshitoshi Tsukioka(月岡芳年) , Kansai Mori(森寛斎) , Naoko Fukada(深田直城) , and Kawabata Gyoku(川端玉章) . His real name is Katsutoshi Shirai. He is commonly known as Shinjiro. At the beginning, He used signname the autographsof Shusai(鮮中舎) 国梅) , Shinchusha(鮮中舎) , and Kuniume(国梅) . After he became a disciple of Yoshitoshi, he used the Toshinobu picture. He will be adopted by the Taguchi(田口) family. His drawing period was from 1883 (Meiji 16) to his death, and in 1890 he went to Osaka to draw illustrations for newspapers and frontispieces for storytelling books. He is 38 years old.
