French silver chocolatier, 18th century XVIII. Pear-shaped body, with engraved and guilloche decoration with plant motifs, resting on three high shoe feet. Lid decorated with a star, with hole to stir the cocoa powder, with a movable lid, and side support in winding. Side handle in turned kingwood. With French contrast marks, in use from 1783 to 1789, very worn "maison de commune" mark, possibly from 1784, and goldsmith's mark possibly by René-Pierre Ferrié, master in 1775. Dents, scratches and small defects. Approx. weight: 1010 g.; Approx. height: 26.5 cm.
