Christ figure carved in ivory, mounted on a contemporary ebonised cross, likely made in Italy, first half of the 19th century The Christ figure is great quality, finely sculpted with strong anatomical details (rib cage, drapery, knees) . The composition is a meditation cross. Meditation crosses are widespread objects of worship used during prayers in noble abodes. The Christ is in excellent condition with a slight shortcoming to the crown of thorns (see photos) . Complete with all fingers and toes; the photos are an integral part of the description.
