Chupicuaro Polychrome Bowl Geometric Motifs

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Guanajuato Valley, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE. A lovely pottery bowl presenting a round yet stable base and thick walls that rise to an ovoid rim. Boasting hues of burnt sienna, chocolate brown, and cream, the exterior of the vessel is adorned with zigzag and geometric motifs, while the interior presents a cream-colored basin and burnt sienna walls. Size: 7.6" W x 3.9" H (19.3 cm x 9.9 cm)

Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection; ex-Fred Eiserman collection, Texas, USA
