Painted circa 1668-1671.The present portrait depicts Catharina van Beaumont (1637-1730) and her son Johan de Witt (1668-1724). In 1667 Catharina van Beaumont married Johan de Witt (1618-1676), amongst others a member and ‘schepen' of the city of Dordrecht.The family's coats of armour are attached to the seventeenth-century frame.
