Condition Report: Overall skinning to paint surface. Surface soiling and yellowing of varnish layer (varnish over soiling). Creases/old folds at upper left and right corners, with corresponding losses to paint surface. Cockling to canvas lower left. Areas of craquelure. Several campaigns of restoration; painting has been relined; inpainting at upper left and right corners, mid-right and lower right edge, along lower edge, at left eye, cheek and neckline - scattered other small areas. Difficult for UV light to completely penetrate layers of varnish in areas. Later frame with scattered nicks and losses, especially at edges and corners.
