A Rare and Desirable 1852-dated Civil War Confederate South Carolina Contract Palmetto Armory Model 1841 Percussion “Mississippi” Rifle of which approximately 1,000 Model 1841 rifles were manufactured by William Glaze and Thomas W. Radcliff's Palmetto Armory for the South Carolina militia. Many saw hard use during the Civil War and are considered a secondary Confederate weapon. it is in fair to good condition, exhibiting genuine signs of hard Confederate use, with scattered mild pitting overall, and mostly legible markings in the metal. Brass retains an attractive golden patina, but the front barrel band has been replaced, stock has been shortened and is missing the ramrod. The action appears to function properly but is weak. These scarce CSA rifles start at $5000-$7500!
