Clark Gable's Pants

Offered here for your consideration is a pair of Clark Gable's pants that were reportedly worn in his last movie, The Misfits, in 1961. The label on the pants reads, Western Costume Co., Hollywood, number 2267-2, name - Clark Gable, along with size. These pants come with various forms of provenance and originally came to the market from Clarence Burdick, who worked as a grip man at MCM for more than 30 years. They were also on display in a Las Vegas casino for some time. In most of the movie, The Misfits (also starring Marilyn Monroe Eli Wallach and Montgomery Clift), it appears that Clark Gable is wearing a pair of denim pants. However, in a few scenes, it appears like he is be wearing slacks (such as these). Most notable, in the bar fight scene (see photo), he is wearing slacks and not jeans and they have stains on them from the mele and this pair of pants also has similar staining. Make your own determination if this is the exact pair in that scene or not. Clark Gable died eight days after completion of filming The Misfits (coincidentally, it also turned out to be Marilyn Monroe's last film). MAKER: Western Costume Co., Hollywood.
