Don’t miss this opportunity and become the new owner of this one-of-a-kind Clenet Prototype convertible! This is a NO RESERVE PRICE AUCTION. Alain Clénet was born in Angers, France in 1944. He studied design in Paris. He emigrated to Santa Barbara, USA in 1974. He founded the car company Clénet Coachworks in 1967. Alain Clénet considered his cars to be exceptional. In April 1980, during an interview with Santa Barbara Times magazine, he stated that he saw his cars as a reward for people who have achieved something in their lives. This Clenet Gatsby is a Prototype, a one-off build based on a 1966 Oldsmobile and a 330CI V8 Oldsmobile engine (also called a 1966 Oldsmobile) . This model was supposed to resemble the style from the 1930s. The nose of the car was longer than two meters which stood in a striking contrast to the driver's seat, which was built almost on top of the rear axle. This is a very exceptional neo-classic. This Clenet is in neat and technically well-maintained condition, the car has nice paintwork (except for some spots of wear, these are to expected after all these years) . The car starts immediately, it brakes properly and shifts smoothly through its gears. The interior looks very neat as can be seen in the photos. The car is equipped with a removable hardtop, beautiful whitewall tyres with good tread and beautiful chrome-plated spoke rims. You will not come across a second Clenet. So don’t wait too long and become the new owner of this very unique car!
