Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-carved shell pendant in the form of zoomorphic creature. The shell is incised with cross hatched lines and a piercing through the center and 2 additional perforations along the upper edge. The head of the animal has a perked ear and large eye cavity that may have been infilled with a contrasting stone. Size: 2.8" L x 1.25" W (7.1 cm x 3.2 cm)
