Description: Ammonite # 8(1159) Placenticeras costatum. A very beautiful and bright mined ammonite. It displays bright reds, oranges, golds, greens and a fair amount of the rare blues as well. It has excellent shape, well pronounced tubercles and stunning ribbing. This ammonite comes from the bottom of the Bearpaw formation at the Korite mine. These are the layers where the best ammolite gemstones are found. Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite's shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. This beautiful specimen measures approximately 16” (40.5 cm.) in diameter. It comes with a wood stand and a certificate of authenticity. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
