Description: Ammonite # 7(1081) Placenticeras costatum. This is an extremely bright and beautiful ammonite that is presented in a white-matt, black frame suitable for wall hanging. This one-sided specimen has excellent shape and displays all colours of the spectrum. It has extremely bright blues to rich reds, oranges, golds and greens. This ammonite comes from near the bottom of the Bearpaw formation at the Korite mine. These are the layers where the best ammolite gemstones are found. Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite's shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. Specimen measures approximately 11” (28 cm.) in diameter in a 20 ½: X 20 ½” frame (51 cm. X 51 cm.). It comes all ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity as well. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
