Commode - Louis XV - Bronze (gilt), Walnut - Late 18th century
Splendid Chateau commode, dating from the 18th century, made of extraordinary solid walnut wood with a gilded bronze trim. Acquired from a private collection in the area of Lyon, France. Crossbow front, it is divided into two large drawers, each one topped with undulating shapes and finely carved decorations, besides the handles and locks in gilded bronze, with Baroque rockery finishes. The profile of its entire structure is mixtilinear, typical of the period when it was created, advanced 18th century. The legs are slightly curved. The entire surface has an original varnish, which gives it a delicate shine that highlights the tan colour of the wood. The original interior locks have been replaced (the keys are missing) Top in good conditions for its age and use (with small marks) The Chateau commode is a very special and valuable piece, since its age, its conservation and its aesthetic strength provide a luxurious and unique touch in the place where they are placed
