Aeneas Carrying His Father from Troy. Inscribed "IPR ivent" l.l. Watercolor on laid paper, sheet size 3 9/16 x 6 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Toning, mat burn, sheet with irregular edge along left side, glue hinged to cardboard backing along the top edge on the verso.
N.B. From Virgil's Aeneid: Aeneas, fleeing Troy, is carrying his father Anchises who is clutching a statue of the god Larus.
