A fragment of copper ore purported to be from King Solomon's mine. Encased within a circular lucite paper weight and labeled 'Authenticated fragment of copper worked by slaves at King Solomon's mines, Elat, Judea around 2900 years ago (974 to 967 BC). 2 13/16 x 1 in (7.1 x 2.5 cm). Likely a tourist item, but an interesting story. Ex Hudson, MA private collection, acquired in Israel in the late 1960's.
