Cupboard, Furniture, Tea cabinet - Glass, Wood - Fully restored and functional tea cupboard 茶箪笥 (chadansu) - Japan - Taishō period (1912-1926)

Elegant chadansu 茶箪笥 (cupboard for tea implements) in very nice original condition. The cabinet is entirely made of Keyaki hardwood, except for the fronts of some sliding doors, which are made of mulberry wood. The chadansu has 6 sliding doors, 2 large glass sliding doors and 4 wood sliding doors with mulberry wooden fronts. The dark metal hardware on the wooden doors are decorated with a shishi 獅子 (temple lion) . Below there are 3 smooth running drawers with elegantly shaped handles. The inside has shelves set up in a geometrical composition. Please note that the appearance of the wood grains of the mulberry panels are deviating. The cupboard has some spots on the top and some traces of use on the lower shelf, please see the photos as a reference. The cabinet is fully restored and functional with smooth running drawers and sliding doors. Size: Height : 86. 5 cm Width : 77 cm. Depth: 24 cm. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
