Cupboard - Refined Dutch two-door Baroque cabinet in beautiful rosewood - rosewood on oak

[ translate ]

This is a special item, a Dutch Baroque cabinet in precious rosewood.
Excellent craftsmanship.
Made around 1680 - 1710.
Even then, this type of wood was very expensive and only intended for wealthy people.
Rosewood falls under the CITUS legislation.
These trees are almost extinct and the wood is now no longer allowed to be processed.
Because this cabinet was made more than 300 years before this legislation, it falls outside this law.

At eye level you will see a particularly beautifully designed break front. (the cabinet is 197 cm high)
Centrally a garland with a peony in the middle, grapes and vine leaves artistically displayed.
Beautiful curves in the frieze under the cornice.

The doors are as thick as a safe; 8 cm thick edges.
They rotate smoothly on forged hinges.
Inside a beautiful interior with a shallow wide drawer also glued with rosewood.

Masterfully executed vertical tendrils along the doors, see detail photos.

The sides have panels made of selected wood - they are the same left and right.

The ball legs are original and turned from oak and blackened.

The ending is later.
