DE HAVILLAND DH-112 VENOM JET PLANE

The first image is a stock photo of this plain when it was in flying condition.The de Havilland DH-112 is a British post-war single-engined jet aircraft developed and manufactured by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. Developed as a faster and more agile counterpart to the de Havilland Vampire, the Venom had a thinner wing with a straight trailing edge and provision for jettisonable wingtip fuel tanks. During production, the DH 112 was further upgraded with an even more powerful Ghost 105 turbojet engine. The Venom model was first flown on September 2, 1949, and entered service three years later in August of 1952. This 1955 DH-112 Mk.1 Venom, Serial Number J1616, is an ex-Swiss Air Force model. Tail number N202DM. Possibly previously owned by Dean Martin. Specifications (FB.Mk 4): Engine: One 5,150-pound thrust D.H. Ghost 105 turbojet engine Weight: Empty 9,202 lbs., Max Takeoff 15,310 lbs. Wing Span: 41ft. 8in. Length: 33ft. 0in. Height: 6ft. 8in. Performance: Maximum Speed: 587 mph Ceiling: 40,000 ft. Range: 1,075 miles Armament: Four 20-mm cannon Two Firestreak air-to-air missiles, or two 1,000-pound bombs, or eight rocketsNumber Built: ~835Number Still Airworthy: Approximately 5.Condition: Wings were removed for transporting, it is uncertain what will be required to reattach them. Engine and starter is complete. Fuel tanks have dings and dents, as well as other dings and dents to wings and body. Landing gear is present. Tires will need to be replaced. No mechanicals, hydraulics, or electronics have been tested. It is sold AS IS for restoration or for parts.This plane is located in Bainbridge, New York for preview and pickup. It will need special transportation and rigging to be picked up.
