Ill. with small engr. pl. on title and full-page engr. dedication pl. by Hieronymus Wierix on *12v, representing the Virgin Mary with Child and Thomas à Kempis kneeling in front of her (and his device "In een hoexcken met een boexcken"). Rare first edition of the "Vindiciae" of Rosweyde (pp. 341-476) in which Rosweyde refutes Cajetanus who had ascribed the authorship of the "Imitatio" to Jean Gerson. - Ref.
