Bleak House, FIRST EDITION IN THE ORIGINAL 19/20 PARTS, additional etched title and 39 plates by H.K. Browne ("Phiz"), with 'The Village Pastor' booklet in part 15 and all advertisements and slips called for by Hatton & Cleaver except for pp.1-6 of the Advertiser in part 1, and the Household Words slip in part 2 (one supplied loose with additional pair of the plates), part 7 has the London Weekly Advertiser sheet supplied loose and frayed at edges, part 14 has several adverts missing but supplied loose from another copy, some plates oxidised or foxed, publisher's blue pictorial wrappers after 'Phiz', some fraying and soiling, spines mostly with some loss or repaired, spines of parts 11, 16 and 19/20 defective, stitching in these and some other parts broken with sections and wrappers loose, part 17 cleaned and repaired by Morrell [Eckel pp.79-81; Gimbel A130; Hatton & Cleaver pp.275-304], 8vo, Bradbury & Evans, March 1852-September 1853

NEAR COMPLETE SET OF 'BLEAK HOUSE' IN THE ORIGINAL MONTHLY PARTS. In this set part 1 has the 4pp. version of the Waterlow advertisement as called for, part 3 has design 1 of the Crochet Cotton slip, and the Household Words slip in part 4 is loose on dark green paper.
