Oval Sterling Serving Tray by Dominick & Haff (New York), #824, retailed by Bigelow & Kennard, Boston, with shell and scroll reticulated rim, top surface engraved with TB monogram, base with engraved presentation "Ella Lyman from Anna Cabot Lowell, October twenty sixth, 1894", 20 1/2" x 16 1/2", 68.45 ozt. Good condition. Ella Lyman Cabot (1866-1934) was a well-known Boston author and educator. This tray was a gift from author Anna Cabot Lowell (1808-1894) in celebration of her marriage to physician and philosopher Richard Clarke Cabot on October 26, 1894.
