Title: Dark Brown Glazed Stoneware Jar Early 20th C
Size: 14 x 14 x 10

Hand thrown, handmade ceramic pottery vessel for liquid with wonderful folk art touches. Brown glazed jar inside and out has a wide mouth with a rim ridge on the inside of the jar. The jar has a short neck with no shoulder going to an ovoid body. The body tapers to an unglazed base. On one side of the jar there is an incised flourish of circular lines for decoration, that is reminiscent of a ramÂ’s horn. The body clay has been fired to a reddish color. The base is rough. The outer base shows where the piece was cut from the wheel. There are no markings or labels. MEASUREMENTS 8 1/8” tall. 7 ¾Â” diameter at the widest point. 5 3/8” diameter mouth.4 lbs 3 ounces. CONDITION The condition is great, no cracks or breaks. There are small rim chips on the mouth. There are kiln flaws but the piece look great even with the wear and tear of usage.
