The sculpture is carved from Carolina red oak, has glass eyes and teeth forged from copper. It is raised on iron rods and rests on a wood base. Murphy has created a body of work using some of the most beautiful hardwoods found in America's forests. His most recent body of work captures the fluidity and strength of the most endangered shark populations. Murphy is represented by galleries in Miami, Asheville and South Hampton, NY and has received international press for his series of rhinoceros sculptures. His work is found in the collections of Steven Spielberg, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Delta Airlines, the Miami Beach Marina and Telemundo Miami.
