Lamp of interest to collectors of quality ART DECO lighting. Pressed glass shade by Des HANOTS (not signed) ; in the period one of the major art glass technology firms as well as designer and manufacturer of glass. Stylised linear motif along the tapering side and abstract floral motif along the border. This model of shade is slightly larger than the norm. Small nick to the lip, not significant. Fine example of ART DECO ironwork and design. The hammered steel bas has a unique design and quality manufacture, in excellent condition. Design respects the "rule of 3s" - 3 hammered steel strips bent to hold the socket holder; 3 fern shaped elements between the strips each with 3 curls. Lamp weighs 1. 85 kg (4 lbs) .
