A magnificent huge and impressive antique Chinese porcelain saucer, boldly painted in bright enamels depicting a spotted deer in a grove with a large pine tree, bamboo springing from rocks, and lingzhi, a crane gliding overhead and a gilded sun and swirling clouds in the distance, within a border of four oval floral panels reserved on a red diaper ground, the flat, broad rim with six cranes in flight within a border of red circles and a gilt-painted rim. Guaranteed original and of the stated period. Provenance: very old private Dutch estate, The Hague area. A similar one (slightly smaller) was sold at Sotheby’s, Important Chinese Art, New York City, 15-03-2017 for USD 8,750,00 (estimate 5,000,00- 7,000,00 USD) Diameter: 39,1 centimeter (! ! !) Condition: The object is in very good condition, minute wear and glaze flakes from the backside, one rabbit bite on the rim, without any hairlines or restorations.
