Dunhill - Table lighter
A very rare silver plated Dunhill table lighter. "BL" stamp on top for "Briquet de luxe" (luxury lighter) . In 1926, a law introduced a stamp for luxury lighters in order to avoid soldering a metal tax label which was deemed ugly and abolished in 1945 "AD" stamp on the underside for silver plating. The patent is PAT. 143752 Made in Switzerland. The spark system has its own spring and screw thread for blocking the stone in place (not supplied) . The wheel turns properly and the cover lifts up without any problem, only the tab that holds the cover in the open position is missing. The lighter will be delivered with an unsaturated wick. The patina is original.
