Painting is in overall fine and stable condition. Small area of paint loss to cuff at lower right, along with some alligatoring and associated delamination to subject's right ear. Reticulation visible under both natural and UV light, either old, deteriorated varnish or glue residue. Inpainting visible to ear and along left side of the face/mustache. Frame is stable overall, but with multiple areas of cracking, finish loss, chips, and filled repairs (along lower edge). Part of upper right corner is detached but present.
