North European bureau desk, late 18th century, Louis XV-XVI Transitional style. Made of rosewood and rosewood, entirely decorated with fine marquetry in "jeu de fond" motifs, floral bouquets, still lifes and precious objects. Cylinder top housing a writing desk, with drawers, compartments and removable leather-covered front. Lower body with drawers. Very similar pieces in style can be related to the Swedish cabinetmakers Christopher Furhrogh and Goerge Haut (Stockholm 1741/11784). Two drawer locks are stamped "Dublin", one of them also with the name "Robinson". . .112 x 60 x 114 cm
