Our interpretation of this bronze is of a pouting child who isnt ready for bathtime but instead would rather play or have his parents read him a story. The bronze is signed at the base with Eug. Wagner, a German sculptor. Many of Wagner’s works featured beautiful nude figures that have a quality of innocence despite being naked. What sets Wagner’s sculptures apart from others are the smooth lines and subtle details he incorporated into his designs that don’t distract from the figure.
