EDWIN HENRY LANDSEER
The favorite painter of Queen Victoria, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer was a Animalier painter and sculptor of Romanticism. Landseer�s talent was recognized very early and at the age of 13 he was exhibiting at the Royal Academy. Incredibly popular as a scholar and artist, Landseer was knighted in 1850, and although elected President of the Royal Academy in 1866 he declined the invitation. His works can be found in Tate Britain, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Kenwood House and the Wallace Collection in London, although his best-known works are the lion sculptures in Trafalgar Square.
