Condition Report: Overall in good condition. The canvas is original and has not been lined. The stretcher would appear to be original as well. The paint layer is stable with no signs of losses or lifting. The painting has likely been cleaned at some time within the last 25 years. Ultraviolet black light examination reveals the following restoration; two diagonal repaired cut through the sitter's breast two inches, and three inches in length, which relates to the corresponding diagonal patch on verso, there is a small bit of retouching approximately 4mm in diameter above the lip (viewer's right side) of the sitter, additionally, there is a small repaired puncture top right (background), the blue draped cloak in foreground shows retouching, and some minor scattered retouching on tacking edge. Contained in likely its original press molded gilt wood frame with scattered losses and damage.
