Ernst Eitner was a founding member of the Hamburg Artists' Club founded in 1897, an association of young artists who wanted to establish open-air painting in northern Germany following the example of the French Impressionists. In the course of this, they tried to make local pictorial themes more popular again. Eitner's works include the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the Altona Museum, the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum Schloss Gottorf and many others.Show more
