Description: A truly prestigious large Georgian silver tea urn made by Paul Storr.
A fine George III silver two-handled tea urn, by Paul Storr, London 1814, of classical vase form, ribbon-tied foliate handles, the neck chased with foliage and anthemion decoration and acanthus leaf border. The centre front has a contemporary hand engraved armorial for importance with part-fluted decoration above and below. The fabulous fluted tap has a lion mask spout and fluted ivory handle. The top of the tea urn has a delightful fluted pull-off cover with a crest and detachable fluted and foliate finial and the interior with a silver heating rod holder. The tea urn sits on a raised fluted circular foot which has a square base and four sumptuous winged paw feet.
