Early 20th C. American Wood Cranberry Advertisements pr

[ translate ]

North America, United States, Wisconsin, Grand Rapids, ca. early 20th century CE. A set of two wooden advertisement plaques for "Beaver Brand" and "Daisy Brand" Wisconsin cranberries. Both signs are fascinating because of how the town of Grand Rapids, Wisconsin changed its name to Wisconsin Rapids so as to avoid confusion with the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After the name change, the once reusable cranberry advertisements - and any advertisements bearing the antiquated name - became obsolete. These signs are wonderful reminders of a city that, at least in name, no longer exists. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 15.4" Diameter (39.1 cm)

Provenance: private Honolulu, Hawaii, USA collection

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#149028
Condition Report: Both signs have minor nicks to peripheries, light staining to some white or yellow areas, and light abrasions to both sides, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remaining coloration on obverse sides.
