Early 20th C. American Wood Duck Hunting Decoy

North America, USA, ca. 1920. An adorable hand-carved hollow wooden duck with a long body that tapers towards its tail and a large head embellished with black paint, brown and black plastic inlaid eyes, and a long applied beak. The head, base, body, and beak were carved separately and joined together. This finely polished piece would have served as a hunting decoy. The gorgeous woodgrain throughout adds a lovely natural adornment. Size: 18" L x 6.375" W x 7.625" H (45.7 cm x 16.2 cm x 19.4 cm)
