Early 20th C. Baule Iron Gong & Wood Divination Tapper

Western Africa, Ivory Coast, Baule (Baoule) people, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A nice pair of Baule objects. First, an iron gong with a round striking surface and integrated long handle. Second a wooden divination tapper capped by a human face. Size of largest (gong): 3.5" W x 9.75" H (8.9 cm x 24.8 cm); 10.8" H (27.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition Report: Gong has an oxidized patina, with clear form. Small loss from top of tapper. Tapper has a rich patina and nice preservation of details.
