Early 20th C. Filipino Painted Wood Cristo Figure

**First Time At Auction**

Southeast Asia, Philippines, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden figure depicting the crucified Jesus Christ. He holds his pierced feet together and holds his head down to demonstrate his suffering on the cross. Traces of black, red, and white pigment are visible across the figure and suggest it was more vibrant and elaborate in its original state. Size: 1.2" W x 4.8" H (3 cm x 12.2 cm); 5.5" H (14 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: Estate of R. Pearson, Denver, Colorado, USA; Mr. Pearson collected from the third quarter of the 20th century until he passed away.
