Early Hand Made Fishing Reel

Made for use without a rod to cast, this multiplying reel has a roughly 2:1 retrieve ratio and measures 4" in diameter with a 3 1/2" wide spool. A simple friction brake is found on the plate near the wooden handle, with the opposite plate fitted with a ball handle. Unsigned, in VG- condition due to the spool flanges rubbing on the notched pillars, and having a few mis-matched nuts securing the pillars and spool shaft.
