Early Maple High Chest of Drawers, Massachusetts, mid-18th century, the upper case with cornice above five thumb-molded graduated drawers, set into a lower section of long drawer and three short drawers and cutout apron joining four substantial cabriole legs ending in pad feet, old surface, original brass, ht. 73 1/2, lower case wd. 37 3/4, lower case dp. 19 in.

Provenance: Descended in the family of one of the first women put to death in colonial America, c. 1701.
