An exceedingly rare type covered with red enamel and with exceptional early medieval style clearly distinguishing from the ancient style of this very important zoomorphic type through the centuries. Horses were one of the most important sign for the crusaders and knights and their selection and decoration was a significant part to display the status in the society that is also valid for the brooches and jewelry that they carried and even the fact that some parts of the aristocratic red color of the enamel is missing the impressive charm of this rare fibula is still captivating.
