This painting, late 18th and early 19th century, is the work of a follower of Desportes (1661-1743) , a painter of hunting scenes in which he participated. He was appointed painter of the hunting dogs of Louis XIV. He was also a portraitist because his painted dogs are the king's dogs. This scene shows a dog in front of a trophy with hare, partridge, and fruit in a balance of greyish green and chestnuts. Nature is very present with trees and foliage. Old relined canvas and re-fixing on a chassis. The canvas consists of two parts, the joint is visible with a vertical trace on the left with a slight detachment. Golden baguette frame behind. Size without frame: Length: 146 - Height: 70 cm. With frame: Length: 148,5 - Height: 72. 5 cm. Hand delivery possible in Paris, La Ferté Bernard region.
