The catalogue, with text by James Monte, accompanied an exhibition presented by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from November 16, 1968 - January 12, 1969. The exhibition traveled to the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
This work is from the first edition of 2500 printed by Toyo Press, Los Angeles and published by Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Minor toning throughout and to the perimeter of each page. Additional page with essay by Alan D. Shean, 1967 paperclipped to title page, '67X The Authorized Version Bengston Bio'.
